Situated in the North East of the island is the pretty town of Tsilivi; a great getaway spot for all the family and ideal for those looking for a mixture of relaxation and peacefulness whilst having some excitement in entertainment.
Tsilivi was rather slow to the tourist boom in Zante at first, but it now makes up for lost time, with its outstanding, Blue Flagged, sandy beach, that stretches two kilometers round the island. Shallow, clear blue waters and golden sand brings the perfect beach, offering a large section holding sun loungers, whilst the other part is dedicated to towels only. Along with plenty of action filled water-sports to choose from.
Whisk the day away in the sun by heading to the fantastic waterpark on offer, Splash Fun, located behind the Plano’s Bay Hotel. Or perhaps a game of mini golf amongst the gecko-filled gardens, and ending the day relaxing under the cool shade of the olive groves and vineyards, tasting the delicious local wines.
Many of Tsilivi accommodation lies along the stretch of beach, with a selection of fantastic hotels, apartments and studios, with a few tucked away in the little streets inland from the sea front. All a short walk from the beach.
Catch Greek dancing in the evenings around the main street of Tsilivi, or taste the best seafood on the island, with giant prawns, lemon drizzled calamari and lobster, all served at the local taverna’s nestled amongst the streets.
There’s no better place to buy a homemade souvenir than in Tsilivi, with ceramic artist Dionysia Avouri’s live at work in her nearby studio, or pick up the novelty postcards, keyrings and T-shirts at the local shops.
